On this episode of Life Lessons, Colton and Jay sit down to cover Chapters 48 and 49 of the manga, in which one of Otae’s coworkers is having a hard time adjusting to the Odd Job’s hometown of Edo. After that, we have a Life Lessons segment about both rough pasts and preferences in toilets, followed by an Anime/Manga Comparison segment about Episode 36 of the anime. Topics of discussion for this episode include why Otae and Kagura are the best, Colton and Jay’s anxiety over washlets and other tiny details about the manga that no one else cares about. On this episode of Life Lessons, Colton is joined by returning co-host, Jasmine, and special guest from the Senpai Coast to Coast blog and podcast, Josh Dunham. Colton talks to Josh about his thoughts on Gintama so far and also another poll which generates more discussion than most polls we’ve covered. Afterwards, we cover Chapter 47 of the manga, in which the Odd Jobs battle the worst monstrosities they have ever faced. Followed by an especially discussion heavy Life Lessons segment and an Anime/Manga Comparison of the second half of anime episode 29. Topics for this episode include the visual beauty of manga and comics, the pros and cons of both watching or avoiding the news, and whether Shinpachi is saying “hump” or “herpes”.
On this episode of Life Lessons, Bookie finally talks with Colton about her (not so) secret Gintama tribute she is currently working on! Afterwards, they cover Chapter 46 of the manga, followed by s pretty short Life Lessons segment and an Anime/Manga Comparison on Episode 90 of the anime. Topics include how nobody eats rotten food, why Hasegawa is awesome, and just how little this chapter offers in the way of discussion. Enjoy!

This episode of the podcast was broadcast and recorded live on Youtube through Google Hangouts, which can be viewed over at youtube.com/gintamangacast. As such, this episode has been left mostly unedited in order to keep the integrity of the original stream (also, because I’m lazy). Enjoy!
Its here! Its finally here!! Its the 2nd anniversary of Life Lessons: The Gintama Manga Cast, and on this episode, its just Colton and Jay this time, as they start off by talking about what its been like to do the podcast and why Jay wants to punch Colton in the face all the time.
Afterwards, they cover manga chapters 42-44, otherwise known as the Rengokukan Battle Arena arc, where the Odd Jobs trio stalks and meets a demon who seeks redemption. We also have Life Lessons segment covering all three chapter titles and an Anime/Manga Comparison segment on Episode 27 of the anime. Colton even gets to sit down and talk to Doctor from the SSAA Podcast and Just a Gintama Podcast about the origins of his podcasting career and just what he loves about Gintama. Last but not least, we even have some feedback to cover before we end the show. Topics of discussion for this episode include death throughout the series, why Gintama isnt popular overseas, and just how much we forget about this arc and the existence of the Tendoshuu.
Thank you to everyone who has been listening to us for the past year and special thanks to Doctor for coming on the show! Its the longest episode we’ve had in a while, so we hope you enjoy it!
On this episode of Life Lessons, its Jon’s last episode of the podcast, as him and Colton cover Chapter 41 of the manga. In which a guy hunts a bear, while the Odd Jobs hunt for mushrooms. Followed by a Life Lessons segment talking about mushrooms and Doraemon, and an Anime/Manga Comparison segment on Episode 73 of the anime. Topics of discussion include how much emotion and impact Sorachi packs in a single stand-alone story, how much the anime really expands on the manga, and how funny movies are ruined by the unfunny people that watch them. We wish Jon all the best of luck while in the Navy and thank him in advance for his services, and enjoy the episode! And remember to leave us all the feedback you can for our next episode before March 31st!
