Episode 5 – “Do a Katsu-Roll!!”

12 Jun

JDI2

On this episode, we talk about, not one, but, TWO CHAPTERS of the manga. Chapters 5 and 6 to be precise. But not before we put in our two cents about the trailer for the upcoming Gintama Movie (Gintama The Movie – The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya). We also have a Life Lessons segment talking about both chapter titles, an Anime/Manga Comparison segment about anime Episode 5 (with a shocking verdict), and a very in-depth Translations and Things segment talking mostly about the “Zura gag” and the different translations of “Shiroyasha”. Its a very full episode today, so enjoy!

On this episode of Life Lessons, me and Jasmine spend another Saturday night talking about (no, not more black celebrities) Gintama.  We have a Manga Recap for Chapter 4, followed by a long Life Lessons segment where we relive our high school years….and talk about the chapter title (People Who Make Good First Impressions Usually Suck).  Then we do our Anime/Manga Comparison of Episode 12.  We also have a very short Translations and Things segment.  Then last but not least, we have the beginning of our Email segment (will come up with a name for that later). Just gonna put this out there guys, we rambled a lot this episode, but hopefully you guys still enjoy the episode 🙂 And now, Let’s Shinpachi!

Guess what black celebrity we talk about this time? While you’re listening to find out, me (Colton), Jasmine and our very good friend Jon discuss Chapter 3 (Watch Out! Weekly Shonen Jump Sometimes Comes Out on Saturdays!). We also have a very breif Life Lessons segment, talk about the anime episode, and talk about various things about Viz’s English translation. You’ll definately wanna stay after-hours for this one. Later Skaters! And remember, D.G.L.

Episode 2 – How Hasegawa Lost His Groove (And Never Got It Back)

Hasegawa

On this episode, we have a Manga Recap for Chapter 2 (Responsible Owners Should Clean Up After Their Pets). Followed by a Life Lessons and Anime/Manga Comparison segment. Meanwhile, I zone out and Jasmine goes on about her pets.

By the way, the music for the Life Lessons segment for some reason starts up very prematurely. I’ll be more careful about that next time…

Episode 1 – We’re Really Sorry

If you’re confused about the way our podcast is supposed to be structured, please refer to Episode 0. Otherwise, we hope you think our first episode of the podcast is at least decent. On this episode, we have myself, Jasmine and Jay screwing around for a little right before we have our Manga Recap of Chapter 1. Then we talk about the differences between the chapter and the anime episode, some of the translation of the chapter, and finally, discuss and analyze the chapter title (Nobody With Naturally Wavy Hair Can Be That Bad). Should I mention that we also screw around at the end of the show as well? Even if you hate us, we still love you!
